In 2023, Pingtan, a small city in Southeast China, officially embarked on its baseball journey.

In recent years, Pingtan has used baseball as a bridge—bringing in international events to elevate its industry,while strengthening exchanges with Taiwan Province and Southeast Asia.

Step by step, Pingtan has evolved from a ‘host city’ into a key hub connecting China and Southeast Asia in baseball.This hub status is further solidified by the success of each high-profile tournament.

In 2024, the event expanded further: the “Qilin Cup” Cross-Strait Youth Baseball Championship and the Cross-Strait Baseball Exchange Tournament showcased strong cross-strait ties.Meanwhile, the U18 Women’s Softball World Cup Group B welcomed international teams to compete on the same stage.

由亚洲垒球联合会主办

本次赛事有来自8个国家和地区的

185名参赛人员、59名官员参加

比赛排名前三的队伍

晋级2024年的U18女子垒球世界杯

From August 29 to September 3, 2023, the U18 Women’s Softball Asia Cup was held in Pingtan. As Asia’s top youth softball tournament, it featured 185 participants and 59 officials from 8 countries and regions. The top three teams earned qualification for the 2024 U18 Women’s Softball World Cup.

With every crisp crack of the bat, the baseball traced an arc across the sky. On and off the field, all eyes were locked on that small white ball. The teams take turns defending, with suspense building throughout, showcasing high-level play and seamless teamwork.

On July 15, 2024, the four-day “Qilin Cup” Cross-Strait (Pingtan) Youth Baseball Championship wrapped up at Pingtan Baseball Park. 20 youth teams from both sides of the Strait displayed excellent skills and sportsmanship.

从2011年起由中国棒球协会和

台湾中华台北棒球协会共同举办

采用轮流办赛的方式

在大陆和台湾交替举办

From August 10 to August 18, 2024, the Cross-Strait Baseball Exchange Tournament was held in Pingtan Baseball Park. Eight powerhouse teams from across the Taiwan Strait, nearly 300 athletes, gathered in Pingtan for thrilling matchups. Since 2011, this traditional cross-strait event has been jointly organized by the Chinese Baseball Association and the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association, alternating between the mainland and Taiwan.

On August 15, 2024, the U18 Women’s Softball World Cup – Group B opened at Pingtan Softball Stadium. Teams from China, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, Puerto Rico, and Peru engaged in thrilling matches, showcasing their skills and teamwork.

From May 10 to May 18, 2025, the National Baseball Championship brought together 12 strong teams. After intense competition, the Jiangsu team defeated the Shanghai Huaxin team as a rusult of 9–3, securing their third consecutive championship. Shanghai Huaxin claimed second place, with the Guangdong team finishing in third.

On the evening of June 7, 2025, the Lan’ao Baseball Exchange Game kicked off at Pingtan Baseball Park, officially marking the start of the spectacular 2025 Pingtan-Macao Sports Month. On the field, players from the Macau U15 team and the Pingtan U15 team engaged in an intense competition, showcasing their youthful energy and sportsmanship.
